One of the great things about working with SharePoint is the wealth of information that is provided by Microsoft. The overwhelming mountain of information is deliberate on Microsoft’s part after hearing the cry from customers and partners when SharePoint 2007 was released with little to no documentation. This time around they’ve done a really good job of creating a lot of content for the release of SharePoint 2010 and continue to do so. Most of what is published by Microsoft is spread across Microsoft.com, Technet, and MSDN. Although it’s organized I still find it sometimes difficult to find something unless I remember exactly where I saw it previously, as it’s easy to get lost in the navigation across these sites. However, I’ll deal with it especially when compared to what the other vendors provide for their products. Below are some of the main links I find useful for getting started, but by no means is meant to be comprehensive. If you haven’t been through these sites it’s well worth the time to visit them.
